An enigmatic pod of orcas have been seen tearing apart unexpected prey in the Humboldt Current , off the coast of Chile .
It's the first time orcas (Orcinus orca) have been observed hunting dusky dolphins.
The discovery could suggest the Menacho group could belong to the same ecotype as the New Zealand and Argentina orcas, known as Type A.
