Donate smallpox vaccines for mpox outbreak, WHO urges wealthy nations

Smallpox vaccines are effective against mpox as the two viruses are closely related.

But as a worrying outbreak of mpox strain intensifies in east Africa , few vaccines have reached the hardest hit regions.
