Apple 's next iOS 18 software update is set for release this month ( September 2024 ) It will include support for Rich Communication Services (RCS) This update marks the biggest visual redesign of iOS since 2013 .

By the end of this year , there will be at least four different kinds of messages iPhones can send: iMessages (blue), RCS (green), SMS (green) and MMS .

If you see green message bubbles when texting another iPhone user, it means that someone's messages aren't successfully sending through Apple iMessage service.

Make sure that cellular data is enabled and that the send and receive addresses/numbers are configured.

Another common reason for green bubbles is if either the sender or the receiver of the text is not logged into iMessage .

Check with your mobile carrier to understand any fees associated with cellular data and data roaming.
