The pan-ethnic terms Hispanic and Latino are used interchangeably in this report.
The survey was conducted online in both English and Spanish .
About a third of Hispanics who have heard of Latinx say it is a bad thing for people to use Latinx more often.
Another 38% of Hispanics view growing use of the term as neither good nor bad, and 14% say they are not sure.
About half of Latinos have heard the term Latinx , regardless of political party affiliation.
Some of its earliest uses can also be traced to Latin America .
