Dynamic pricing is a relatively new pricing model that allows Live Nation to charge more for tickets when demand surges.
Live Nation chief executive Michael Rapino was unequivocal at the company's earnings call earlier this year .
Australia currently allows the practice, and Live Nation has flagged it would be expanding its use for ticketed events.
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission did not confirm whether it had plans to investigate dynamic pricing in Australia .
"There's certainly going to be cause for concern if it facilitates price gouging, and it's not obvious that it will," Professor Clarke said. "If suppliers merely vary their price depending upon the demand they're receiving, it's a reasonable response to normal competitive and consumer pressures.".
