•Who is Rook, the Renaissance station's robot science officer in 'Alien: Romulus?'
37% Informative
"Alien: Romulus" features a damaged Science Officer robot named Rook aboard Weyland-Yutani's Renaissance space station.
Rook bears a remarkable likeness to the Nostromo 's sleeper cell Science Officer android named Ash in the first "Alien" The late Ian Holm played Ash in Ridley Scott's 1979 film, "Alien," who was played to perfection by Holm .
Holm sadly passed away in June of 2020 at the age of 88 after a phenomenal career.
Holm's widow and family gave permission for his likeness to be used in " Romulus" Daniel Betts provided the vocals and on-set acting for Rook 's voice.
This digital cloning technique has some fans' feathers ruffled but it's a nostalgic connection to the franchise's '70s roots.
