Sheriff Dar Leaf is under fire for releasing damaging notes from incomplete investigation into his opponent.
Prosecutor: "Throwing his own employee and two others under the bus is not what an honorable chief law enforcement officer would do" Leaf essentially won his sixth term with a landslide victory in the Aug. 6 Republican primary.
Leaf claims he released the notes in response to a Freedom of Information Act records request.
Pratt says she received notice that FOIA requests had been filed for the notes into the claims about Sgt . Spencer.
The prosecutor said she reached out to all three of the requestors on Aug. 1 to let them know she was still working on a response.
On Sunday, Aug. 4 , Pratt learned that two Barry County residents had obtained the notes and they were "splashed all over social media".
