•Polish church turns to Supreme Court over changes to school religion classes
78% Informative
Poland 's Christian denominations have petitioned the Supreme Court to submit a motion to the Constitutional Tribunal (TK ) asking it to verify the legality and constitutionality of the government’s changes to religion classes.
The organisations argued that the changes should have been discussed and agreed upon with the church and that they put many priests at risk of losing their jobs.
Poland ’s Christian organisations have criticised a number of changes to the education system.
The SK has appealed to President Andrzej Duda to challenge the regulation at the TK. Wrocaw , Poland 's third -largest city, has called for an end to municipal funding for Catholic catechism classes in schools.
