Charlotte Brown told her daughter, Poppy , that her friend from school, Alice Aguiar , had been killed.
Poppy said her Mum was open and honest and told her people had been stabbed at the dance class.
The eight-year-old said she knew her friend was in the same year above and the friends went to choir together.
Charlotte Brown said Poppy 's first question from her daughter was why she couldn't understand.
Poppy was more scared of the rioting than she was of the stabbing, Charlotte says.
Charlotte and Poppy say the community will come together to do "something special" for when the children return to school in September .
