Airbus praised China ’s efforts in bringing the C919 to market, but was also blunt in listing its shortcomings.
Brazilian manufacturer Embraer used Farnborough as an opportunity to damp down expectations of an imminent push into the narrow-body market.
Comac 's plane is already in production, albeit at a slow pace, but one obstacle to its progress is a lack of certification for the C919 to fly in Europe or the US .
Boeing said in Farnborough that it welcomes competition, adding: “We believe it makes our industry stronger”.
