devastating Tory policiesMedium
•67% Informative
The two -child benefit cap means that any state child benefits for parents are limited to just two children.
It was formally introduced to law in 2017 and the effects have been anything but bleak.
While lifting the cap would significantly improve living standards for one million children, analysts estimate that the policy is keeping 300,000 children in abject poverty.
It will not be long before more traditional working-class Labour voters are galvanised by the disingenuous, yet radical, alternatives offered by Farage & Co. Starmer might have won the battle but he will ultimately be judged by history on whether he was able to improve people’s living standards.
