NEW: Georgia state superintendent says districts can use state funds to teach African American Studies course.
NEW: State now says districts are free to teach the course and the state will pay for it as long as districts use a code linked to an existing state-approved course in African American studies.
The College Board says 33 Georgia schools piloted the course in the 2023-2024 academic year.
