Colorado Rep. Steven Woodrow apologized for his tweet on the night of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump .
Republican Rep. Matt Soper declined to call for Woodrow 's resignation, but said he can forgive him for the tweet.
Many Colorado Republicans are blaming Democrats ' harsh anti-Trump rhetoric for contributing to a political climate where assassination is acceptable.
Soper said it's important for people on all sides to take some time to reflect.
Still, a day after his original tweet, Soper acknowledged that the immediate debate over Biden ’s comments contributes to the heated political atmosphere that he’d like to see cool down.
Democrats have pushed back on assertions that Biden caused any of this.
