A 2024 study found that people who add salt to their food were 40% more likely to develop stomach cancers.
Researchers at the Center for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna analyzed the data of more than 470,000 adults from UK -Biobank, a large-scale British biomedical database.
The study authors say the findings will help highlight stomach health and its relationship to diets.
People who said they always or Frequently Added Salt to Their Food were 39% more likely to develop Stomach Cancer over an Observation Period of around 11 years than those who Never or Rarely Added an Extra Pinch of Salt to their Food.
