Lego bricks made in part from meteorite used to create "building bricks" for future moon bases.
Scientists used the iconic plastic pieces as a model for possible designs for habitats, launch pads and other structures for astronauts to use on the moon.
The resulting " ESA Space Bricks " will next go on display for three months beginning June 24 at select Lego Stores in the United States , Canada , the United Kingdom , Germany , Denmark , Spain and Australia .
Pearlman is a contributing writer for Space.com and co-author of " Space Stations: The Art, Science , and Reality of Working in Space" Pearlman was inducted into the U.S. Space Camp Hall of Fame in 2009 .
In 2021 , he was honored by the American Astronautical Society with the Ordway Award .
