Police: Fraudsters posing as victims' children extort €70,000

Finnish police complete preliminary investigation into suspected text message scam.

The main suspect, a 25-year-old , and an unspecified number of accomplices sent 13,000 text messages.

The fraudsters, posing as the victims' children, asked that up to a few thousand euros be transferred.

In total, investigators believe people lost about 67,000 euros to the scam.
