House unveils new warrantless surveillance bill

House Republicans unveil a new bill for reauthorizing and reforming the nation’s warrantless surveillance powers.

Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act ( FISA ) allows the government to spy on noncitizens located abroad.

The bill does not include a warrant requirement, but it does require law enforcement to get a warrant to search the database.
