3D "ice printing" technique could one day be used to make realistic, lab-grown blood vessels from human cells.
Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University created the scaffolds using a 3D printing technique.
The sculptures the team made stood about 0.1 inch ( 3 millimeters ) tall and 0.008 inch ( 0.2 mm ) in diameter, and took about 20 seconds to print.
