UK weather: Snow covers parts of country as schools close and commuters face disruption

Snow has settled quickly in Yorkshire , Derbyshire and Wrexham .

Dozens of schools have shut in northern England and North Wales as a result.

Five weather warnings for snow and ice warnings are in force across the UK .

Up to 25cm of snow is forecast across high ground and 15cm expected "quite widely".
