Russell on Hamilton, chasing Red Bull and finding peace

Mercedes driver George Russell has signed a two-year contract extension with Mercedes .

The 25-year-old says signing a new contract was "a very straightforward decision from both sides" Mercedes have only been represented on the podium at four races in 2023 , with Russell there just once after a third -place finish in Barcelona .

F1 is aiming to hit zero carbon emissions by 2030 , with a 100% sustainable fuel net worth by 2050 .

Russell has lived and breathed the effects of pollution from growing emissions.

"There is so much we can do and need to continue to do," he says.

"Whenever I flew back and landed in London Heathrow - walking out of those doors and feeling the freshness of the British air was something I never appreciated until I visited".
