Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh says AI has made us dumbed down machines

Irvine Welsh is releasing a sequel to his cult novel Trainspotting, Men in Love .
The 1993 novel became a hit film starring Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller .
It was Welsh 's first novel and sold more than a million copies in the UK alone.
He says he hopes we'll be "more judicious" about using social media in the future.
