Student family immigration rises sharply, interior minister criticises reform

In 2023 , nearly 8,000 first -time and 4,000 extension applications were filed by student family members from outside the EU .
This year , the number is expected to reach a record 15,000 applications.
For the first time, student family applications outpaced those from workers' families.
