Emil Bove is due to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a confirmation hearing on his nomination to be a judge on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia .

Bove , during a March 14 meeting with the whistleblower, Erez Reuveni , "stressed to all in attendance that the planes [carrying the immigrants] needed to take off no matter what," a letter says.

Boves, who previously acted as Trump 's criminal defense lawyer, has been nominated to a federal circuit court appeals judge.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche says Bove 's claims are "falsehoods".

"Planting a false hit piece the day before a confirmation hearing is something we have come to expect from the media, but it does not mean it should be tolerated." But Dana Gold , the senior counsel and director of the Government Accountability Project's Democracy Protection Initiative , said in a statement, "Mr. Reuveni 's disclosures reveal a disturbing willingness by senior officials to undermine the rule of law for political ends." "Mr. Reuveni acted with integrity, fulfilling his duty to the Constitution and the courts. He should be commended, not punished," Gold said..
